Matt Zukowski

I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science & Artificial Intelligence at the University of Toronto, with minors in Computer Science, Psychology, and Philosophy. My academic interests include human-computer interaction and philosophy of mind.

• Responsible for integrating the company's diverse software infrastructure supporting over 300 employees. Achievements include the successful development of several large-scale software systems supporting corporate business processes, implementation of a custom web-based single-sign-on solution, and the integration of all company web-based services via a custom Rails-based portal platform.
• Developed several Ruby libraries subsequently released as successful and widely-used GPL open source projects, including RubyCAS and RubyWeather.
• Consulted in all major I.T. decisions, including server and application provisioning and deployment.
• Reported directly to the CTO.

• Led development and programming efforts in a number of successful enterprise-level projects.
• Responsible for all major I.T. decisions, including system architecture and hiring of new staff.
• Managed I.T. department, with direct supervision over programmers, DBAs, and sysadmins.
• Worked directly with clients to establish project requirements and communicate goals to I.T. staff.
• Administered a number of Gentoo Linux and Windows 2003 servers.
• Successfully applied for T661 government research & development grant, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax savings for the company.

• Created and implemented web-based advertising for Bell Canada in the form of GIF and Flash banners, shown millions of times on Yahoo! Canada, Wired, and other high-profile sites
• Designed promotional rich-media email campaign for Royal Bank
• Designed and implemented Flash-based technology presentation for Bell Canada's Sydney Olympics promotional website
• Worked with an artistic director to develop sections of the Pontiac, Saab, and Buick websites for General Motors Canada

• Developed JavaScript-based games for the Ontario Securities Commission website.
• Wrote code and performed other production-related duties for iCraveTV.com, a high-profile dot-com startup specializing in streaming television signals via the internet.
• Involved in web production for Monsanto's corporate website.
• Developed a FileMaker-based studio time tracking system for The Digital Mill.
